Synology DS710+ Network Attached Storage Review

Synology Disk Station DS 710+ Review

Few weeks ago, I was able to test run a Network Attached Storage Server from Synology the DS710+ NAS. The Disk Station DS710+ is Synology’s 3.5-inch hard drive-based NAS server that offers easy access to its storage. The Synology DS710+ can be purchased both with and without storage. But my review unit comes with one 512GB hard drive, although it can be set up in either RAID 0 or RAID 1 configuration with two hard drives installed.

Applications/Features

The DS 710+ can be configured as a file server in which I was able to integrate Windows ADS environment (Active Directory). I was able to configure it remotely even on a public internet. It can also function as a WEB/FTP server in which can be configured easily for those with modest knowledge about Web Server. Installing the DS 710+ was a little tricky for me; you’ll need to download the Synology Assistant from their website to discover the device for you. But after that you’re off to go. The DM 3.0 User Interface is very user friendly because of its Windows-Application feel interface…you will forget that your using a browser to navigate it.

According to Maxtec Solutions, the Synology DS710+ is a Small to Medium Enterprise NAS solutions that provides High-performance & Scalability. I definitely agree with them. For as low as Php 33,000.00 only, Synolgy DS710+ is a great value for its functionality and performance.
