Intel Philippines – Shut Down This Feb 2009

After 35 years of operation, one of the biggest company in the Philippines will be pulling out its’ resources effective February 2009. (Based “Unang Hirit” Jan 23,2009) Operating Since strong1974, /strongIntel Philippines will includes two facilities in the stop operations. Intel Cavite, a manufacturing facility, is the first American multinational company and the first semiconductor company in the Philippines. It has world-class assembly and testing facilities, as well as involvement in product design, assembly technology development and much more. Intel Manila is a sales and marketing office that serves the growing PC technology in the Philippines on many levels. In addition, the Manila office is home to Intel’s Asia Pacific Customer center and almost 1800 Filipino workers will be jobless for 2009.
