I have this problem that I wanted to share. After the long holidays last December 2008, I can’t access one of my website at the office. But it is accessible at home and even from other offices. I called my hosting provider about it and they told me that, its working fine from there side. I told them I can’t even ping the domain name from my office. But they were also bug-out with the problem.

Afterward, I remembered that I have encountered this problem before, that why I called-up some friends and discussed it to them. One of my friends told me that the web server where I’m hosting the site might be the cause. Then I did some isolation of the problem on my own, and here’re the steps:

Check the router’s firewall if it’s blocking the website ip address. (I’m using Linksys RV80 VPN Router with Firewall)

Check DNS if its’ configured properly. Call your domain name tech support for more information.

Then I check with my ISP provider if they were blocking the site ip address.

After ruling out my router, DNS and ISP; it only points me to my webhosting provider. After reporting that my ip address is being block by there web server, it works fine the day after.

If you have question, regarding this problem email me at jhongmed@qlickcafe.com
