3 Simple Rules in Keeping your Windows running smoothly.

1. DO NOT INSTALL SOFTWARE THAT YOU DON’T NEED!

- IF DON’T NEED IT WHY INSTALL IT.
- If you’re not familiar with that software, don’t experiment by installing it into your PC. Theres a lot of Trojan and Malware Software that can damage your computer system.

2. TURN OFF or SHUT DOWN YOUR WINDOWS PROPERLY.

- You really need to shut down your windows properly. Let it finish first to save all it configuration before unplugging it or before pressing the off button in the AVR(Auto Voltage Regulator). Don’t force it to shutdown, because it may corrupt some files and may also cause damage on your hard drive.

3. DO SOME PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE PERIODICALLY.

Keep a Dust Free Work Station

Defrag your Hard Drive Periodically

Do a Disk Clean Up more often

Update your Antivirus Definition

Always Check for Security Updates

With this (3) three simple step it will help your Windows PC running smoothly and error-free.

Tips on how to redirect your readers to your new domain name

To demonstrate I have prepared a slide show for you to have a better picture.

How to increase or decrease font size (MS Word)

To quickly increase the font size of selected text, press Ctrl+Shift+>. To decrease the size, press Ctrl+Shift+<. I find it easy to remember these keyboard shortcuts because the one with the greater-than symbol increases the font size while the less-than symbol decreases it.

How to used Fill Handle (MS Excel)

If you drag the fill handle with only one cell selected, it will repeat that cell's value into adjacent cells. However, if you drag the fill handle with multiple cells selected, Excel is smart enough to figure out the series. For instance, in the following example, Excel will fill subsequent cells with the increasing series of odd numbers. This even works for other types of series, like dates and percentages.

In the above slides, I selected 2 cells then drag the fill handle downward and you will notice the number will increment by 5.

For those people who’s having trouble with the installation process for Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 on Windows Vista PCs or Notebook. Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 does run on Windows Vista and should work fine. Just to make sure and for best results, I recommend downloading and installing Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 while you’re logged in as Administrator on your Windows Vista computer. To help you guys in avoiding some obstacles please note the following simple procedure:

1. Log in as Administrator, or any administrator account.

2. Turn off the Windows Vista Security Control called “User Account Control” (UAC) in the control panel.

3. Turn off any firewall that you have.

4. Make sure run the Diagnose and Repair in the network icon in the system tray to resolve network issues if you have one.

5. Go to the Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 download page.

6. A small Windows dialog box will appear, asking if you want to Run, Save or Cancel the file download. Click Run

(Based on my experiences, you’ll be having trouble with installation if you save the downloaded file and running it later on.)

7. Another window will pop up asking if you want to run this software. Click the “Run” button again.

From there you should see the first screen of the 9.0 installer.

Yahoo Messenger 9.0 Installer

10. After this you will have to follow the installation process from Yahoo! Messenger then, everything will be fine.

Installing Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 will not be exactly the same for every Windows Vista user. Depending on your settings, you may or may not see the UAC and firewall windows. If you’re running into different issues, please describe them by commenting in this blog or email me at jhongmed@qlickcafe.com (e.g. step-by-step so I can understand where you’re running into an issue).
