How to guide – to verify your friendster account.
If you haven’t open your friendster account since September 2009, you might haven’t read the below notice:
“Please Note: As of September 24, 2009 all Friendster members are required to Verify their Email Address. Follow the instructions below.”
A lot of my friedster’s users in my internet cafe are having problem with verifying there email address. They’re having problem accessing with their account because last September 28, 2009 Friendster have tighten up their security by cleaning-up unverified emails, that is why this is happening.
Why Do I Need To Verify My Email Address?
As per friendster, you need verify your email address to:
- Receive network activity from friends
- Send messages to friends
- Post a comment or bulletin
- Create and manage your Blog
This mean you won’t be able to update your profile or even post a comment using you account. But to view your account, you can just simply search for it without logging-in.
How to verify your friendster account.
First, make sure you have an existing email account. Email account can be registered or create under Yahoo Mail or Google Mail – Gmail.
If you have an email account already you can proceed in email verification process. Just follow the simple step below:
1. Click on “Resend Email” if you’d like to verify the address you currently have registered with Friendster. If you want to first edit the email address you have registered with Friendster and then verify that address, please click on the “Update this email” link
2. Once you’ve clicked “Resend Email” you’ll receive an email to the email address you’ve registered with Friendster (this is sent to your personal inbox on Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail, etc)
3. Login to your personal email inbox (yahoo/gmail/hotmail) and find the “Verify Email” from Friendster.
4. Please open the “Verify Email” email and click on the “Verify Email” link/button (in the verify email)
5. Once you have successfully verified your account you will be directed to you friendster profile.
That’s it! On my next post I’ll be posting on how to change friendster profile email. Hope this step by step procedure will help you update your friendster account.

Seriously now – is Friendster still alive? How come?! All along I thought Facebook has it all bloodied up and dying in an alley somewhere. Hey, Friendster fans, I'm just pulling your legs. LOL.
I have friends who sign in every now and then with Friendster to check messages, then sign out, and they sign in on Facebook. How time flies. It's only a few years ago when Friendster had it so good. Well that was then and this is now.

That's one thing Madz, and may be you have a valid email, almost all of my friendster user's here are using fake email.

That's great Fr. Fiel, even here in my computer shop some of my customer they just give their username and password, and let me do the verification. That's one reason I made this guideline. Lols!

Yeap. I asked myself the same question Jan. When I reopen my computer shop; I've notice a lot of my customer are still using Friendster.
BTW, I've heard you've been doing some farming chores too much, Jan. ROFL!

November 26th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
Good for you Fr. Fiel. Now I'm only using Friendster and Facebook for announcing new post, and… socializing online with relatives and friends.

Hi mayangelle,
Have you check the email that you've used? If you look at the third image on this post the highlighted email should be the email that you're verifying. The email should be available in a few moments if you followed the procedure correctly.
If you still have trouble, you can send me screenshots like what i did above and email it to me at jhongmed[@]qlickcafe[.]com.
Good Luck!

Verifying email is important as this is showing that you are the legit owner of the account and so you will receive the PMs and other stuffs from your friends. Plus this is for security purposes and for your own good too.

hi, What would you have done with an email if Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg emailed you? … Maybe I'll see if you're any wiser or more!
