Disabling Windows XP File Index
Here is a fast click and quick tips on how to improve your windows xp system.
The indexing service gets info from files on the hard drive and creates a “searchable keyword index.”
If you don’t use the Windows XP Desktop search feature often to look for documents, you can turn this feature off.
Here’s how to disable the File Indexing.
1. From My Computer > right-click on the C: Drive > select Properties.
2. Uncheck “Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching.
3. Apply changes to “C: sub folders and files,” and click OK.
Notice improvements on over-all performance of your system.
