Defense of the Ancient Rise of the New Hereos

On the latest version of DotA (Defence of the Ancient) 6.66 new characters was added by Ice Frog. The latest DotA version 6.66 was release last January 13, 2010 which corrected map exploits and bugs.

The Newest Heroes are:

Slark – The Murloc Nightcrawler

Statistics:
Range: 128 | Move Speed: 305
Primary: AGI
Str: 21 + 1 | Agi: 21 + 2 | Int: 16 + 1.6

About Kaldr
Defeated in a battle long forgotten, this once great mage was banished to a tomb of ice for all eternity. For countless ages he lay in unbearable anguish until he was discovered by minions of the Lich King. In a vain attempt to gain favor with this ancient soul for his own purposes, the Lich King released him. But this soul no longer knew gratitude, it no longer knew friend from foe, it knew only pain. With it’s body long since decayed, the soul took up the only form it knew. Consumed with hatred, even a touch from this monstrosity causes agony. Able to conjure devastating ice storms with a mere thought and hurl soul-shattering bolts of frost seemingly impossible distances, this creature punishes all who dare to stand their ground against it.

About Cairne Bloodhoof

Since ancient times it has been prophesized by the Tauren elders that a Chieftain will come, strong as the mightiest warriors and wise as the eldest shamans. After many years of wandering the sacred lands, seeking wisdom from his forefathers, Cairne Bloodhoof has proven himself as the long awaited hero. Cairne carries with him the spirit of his mightiest ancestor, and now the ground shakes with the combined strength of the Chieftain and his guardian spirit. About Jin’zakk
Once an expendable spy, Jin’zakk has outlived the suicidal tendencies of other Bat Riders to create a unique style, one that favours control and precision instead of wanton destruction. His years of battle experience have allowed him to innovate creative uses for his fiery arts: He can douse enemies in a bath of sticky oil that restricts their movements before igniting it, fire an explosive that blows enemies away, or take flight to leave behind a trail of flame. However, his most deadly skill involves lassoing his opponent and dragging the unfortunate foe into the arms of his allies.

Since the release of these new heroes, I’ve been enjoying skills of the Bat Rider specially the stick napalm and flamebreak combo. It’s awesome for farming creeps.

Warcraft: Defense of the Ancient – Gaming Tips

One of my patrons or customer in my Qlick Internet Cafe approached me yesterday “Bakit Kael Kuya Jhong?” or asking why did I choose Kael the Invoker is my favorite, “Where Kael’s skills is hard to use” he added. He must have read my previous post on “Who’s your favorite DotA character?” So I run him down some facts of Kael’s skill and advantages againts other Warcraft Charaters:

Facts:

• You can invoke 10 spell unlike the other DotA character  you only have 4.
• It’s very versatile because unlike the other heroes, Kael’s skills build is unlimited. There is no best skill build. You can choose what ever you want to be. It’s all depends on your teams.
• If you want to be an early game player invest of on building Wex and Exort.  It will develop your attack speed and damage rate to your opponent.
• If you wish to maintain the lane, maximize on Quas/Wex early on. It will give enough regeneration and disabling spells.
  
• Lastly the most common skills build is  Quas and Exort. It ensure enough regeneration to keep you on your lane without any other items, while Exort gives you high percentage rate to last hit easier.

But note, this skills doesn’t guarantees  the games. You have to master the 5 keystroke combination of the 10 spells.

Here’s the 10 Invoker’s Spell Keystroke Combo:

EEW – Chaos Meteor (  Key Stroke – EEW R D )

WWE – EMP (  Key Stroke – WWE R C )

WWQ – Tornado (  Key Stroke – WWQ R X )

QQW – Ghost Walk (  Key Stroke – QQW R V )

QWE – Deafening Blast (  Key Stroke – QWE R B )

QQE – Ice Wall (  Key Stroke – QQE R G )

EEE – Sun Strike (  Key Stroke – EEE  R T )

QQQ – Cold Snap (  Key Stroke – QQQ R Y )

WWW – Alacrity (  Key Stroke – WWW R Z )

EEQ – Forge Spirit (  Key Stroke – EEQ R F )

Note: R – optional (You’ll only need to press R to invoke new spell)

Whew! That’s all about it. You can you invoke combination of spell up to 4. What I love with using the Hero Kaels is the combo, I always use the combination of Tornado, to disable the lane, then strike them with a Deafening Blast, then hit them with the Chaos Meteor hitting them like Meteor Shower, lastly hit them with Sunstrike for those scaping hero. You should have enough mana build up to perform this combo.

Warcraft: Defense of the Ancient Gaming Tips

To cope up with what you call “writer’s block” let us shift to something fun, and let out the child within us.  Forgive me if I turn to my childish side, but my Qlick Internet Café also offers online gaming right? Ok what is DotA? DotA means Defense of the Ancients is a custom scenario for the real-time strategy video game Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. Warcraft has been around several years now, it started 1994 with it’s Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. Until now Warcraft: Defence of the Ancient has been around and has been constantly being developed by the developer is known by his pseudonym as “IceFrog”, and has been developing the game since 2005.

A brief about DotA… Defense of the Ancients pits two teams of players against each other: the Sentinel and the Scourge. Players on the Sentinel team are based at the southwest corner of the map, and those on the Scourge team are based at the northeast corner. Each base is defended by towers and waves of units which guard the main paths leading to their base. In the center of each base is the “Ancient”, a building that must be destroyed to win the game. The first hero or team destroys the Ancient will be declared the winner. DotA is like a chess game but interactive. The popularity of Defense of the Ancients has increased over time. The game is popular in many parts of the world; in the Philippines and Thailand, it is played as much as the game Counter-Strike until now.

Going back to my question who’s your favorite DotA charatacter? I love playing the character “Huskar – The Troll Warrior”, “Kardel Sharpeye” and “Kael – The Invoker”.But I play most of the time the hero – Kael (The Invoker), because it has the most number of skills that you can use and It’s a very versatile character too. Kael can be an early game character and do first kill but can also owned you at the end game. I missed playing the game, I missed the sound of “OWNING!” (Jan, you know what I mean, right?).  The last version that I was able to play was version 6.59b, but now they have released the DotA version 6.64 map.
